1 John 4:17 reads,
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
The above passage of scripture assures us that as Christ is, so are we in this present world. The same Bible tells me that we have been espoused to Christ – 2 Corinthians 11:2.
To espouse means to marry or promise is marriage, so we are married to Christ as his bride. Glory to God, isn’t that such good news?! That means when the Bible says, “as he is, so are we in this world”; what is being said here is that your identity is now hidden in the bridegroom.
You may have been poor but if your husband is rich, praise Jesus, you are a joined owner of his estate. You may have only spoken in your vernacular, but the moment you are married you adopt the culture and language of the groom… I see somebody receiving the Baptism of the Spirit and speaking in other tongues! The benefit of being espoused to Christ is that it is no longer about your level or shortcomings, but you now operate in the realm of the bridegroom.
It is, therefore, my prayer for somebody yielded today, may the Lord grant you the heart of the Bride!!!
