The Bible declares in James 5:13, “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.”
As the Body of Christ, we have not truly realised the power we carry through prayer. The latter part of Luke 18:1 reads, “…men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Many of the times, in this life of prayer, the believer faints for lack of results, but the promise belongs to those that will tarry in the place of prayer.
The misconception is in that God will come and remove us from our present-afflictions, but the Bible tells me that we have been given the legal authority to deal with the enemy.
Mark 16:17 declares, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall THEY cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”
Therefore the scriptures reveal that it is the duty of the believer to cast out devils. Our anchor scripture for today gives a divine prescription to afflictions; prayer! The problem is that the Church has kept us in praise and worship for too long, yet the Bible says that the singing of Psalms is for the merry. Beloved, I do not know your present-afflictions or the devices the enemy has tasked against you, but I arose this morning to let somebody know that prayer brings down demonic structures.
And so I declare over your life this morning; may the Lord give you a renewed commitment to the discipline of prayer, that from this day, no demonic attack against your life and those around you shall prevail!
