The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 13:4, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, it is not puffed up”
I have come to realise that a great deal of the times we fail in our relationships with man, whether with siblings, spouse, relatives or friends; yet having “love.” I began to look at this thing called ‘love’ from a standpoint of its origin.
The Bible tells us that “God is love,” and thus it is important for us to look at his definition. This morning I want to give particular emphasis to the first quality of love that is mentioned in the above portion of scripture, “Charity/love suffereth long.” Other versions would read that it is patient, but I love how the King James puts it, “suffereth long.” I want to speak to someone that has not been seeing the rosy side of their relationships and has been feeling like throwing in the towel. In my B.C days (Before Christ,) it took a godly woman with love to see the Apostle in me.
And so I pray for you this morning, though there is a temporary period of suffering, may the Lord bring you into immeasurable and timeless joy!
