5 Tips To Stay Hydrated

Have you heard the raindrops drumming on the roof tops?

I remember singing this song when I was still in Primary School. It was catchy but I never took time to figure out what it really meant. Years later I sing this song and think of just how water really is life to maintain good health. If you are on a fitness journey, staying hydrated should be of top priority for you. I know a lot of people struggle with drinking water but here are some tips to help you.

  1. Drink a bottle of water first thing in the morning when you wake up.
  2.  Substitute all your drinks with water.
  3.  Download an application that will remind you to have your water, I use Water Drink Reminder what I like about it is that it will calculate the amount of water you need based on your weight.
  4.  Drink water with lemon, cucumber, berries which ever fruit gives your water that extra kick and ‘taste’.
  5. Invest in a bottle which you can easily carry around with you and fill it up each time you drink up the water.

Remember that just because your friend is drinking 3 litres a day does not automatically qualify you to be doing the same. First find out how much your body water your body requires and then challenge yourself to start hydrating.
