MUSICIAN Alick Macheso has penned a charity song meant to help him seek assistance for his benevolent works as the Zimbabwe Red Cross ambassador.
Titled Tinokumbira Rubatsiro, the song will be part of his forthcoming album expected to be ready by end of March with an official launch slated for early April.
Macheso performed the song during his shows over the weekend as he continues giving fans bits and pieces from his forthcoming project.
In an interview with H-Metro, the revered entertainer said the song will be sung in various languages so that it reaches out to different parts of the world.
“I am working on a song and that song will help me send my message to people about what I intend to do this year.
“I speak a number of languages while I will get tips on some. So the song will be in Shona, Ndebele, Lingala, Chewa, English and French among other languages,” said Macheso.
Macheso said apart from partnering ZRCS in holding shows and channel the proceeds towards charity, there is also need to engage the community to give its helping hand.
He said he has discovered a number of underprivileged families and societies during his tours as an ambassador and is taking a different approach this time around.
“When we visit victims during, I came across a number of sad situations and it is such things that we want to alleviate.
“This song I am doing is message to people out there to help us, to help me as I embark on my charity work.
“We are going to visits places that have been affected by national disasters so that we all live a better life,” said Macheso.
Since his appointment as the ZRCS ambassador, Macheso has visited all provinces of the country donating food stuffs and clothing to the underprivileged.
He, however, feels it is not enough and there is a lot that needs to be done, with every citizen participating.
Macheso’s handler Lucky Macheso confirmed that the song will be on the new album and it tipping it to be among the favourites.
“It is something he is singing from his heart after his experience in charity work. The song is part of the album and we are working very hard so that we meet the deadline.
“As you have been seeing, some of the songs are already being sampled during our shows,” he said.
