The Connection between Faith and Health

If it was possible, faith could be a packaged pill. God created us in a unique way; the soul, body and mind are connected. The scriptures outline that our life will be full with Him and bring peace, joy and hope. From this reason, it creates an environment that is favorable to good health. That is to say, active faith in one’s life bear fruits and has consequences on their health.

Not only is it great in the sight of the Lord but faith is not merely spiritually; it is a profound predictor of health. Spiritual activities and practices such as praying and worshiping reduces blood pressure, strengthen the immune system and help starve off some effect of mental illness. No doubt, faith is good for you and caring for health should include going to church regularly. Believe God is with you and you will never feel alone or lonely which is healthy feast for your soul, body and mind.

At church behavioral change sessions literally reduces our chances of dying. Rebellious attitudes, thinking patterns and behavior patterns become habits that negatively affect your emotional, spiritual and physical health. Not to mention, being spiritual helps reduce stress. Studies show that religion reduces stress in a number of ways. Prayer or spiritual activities can balance out the stress by enhancing body’s relaxation.

Our emotions and thoughts relates to our life events and our relationships. From this reason, it will be either health enhancing or disease enhancing. Faith gives people a sense of meaning and purpose in life. Accordingly, it also offers rich relationships that improve people’s emotional being. Anger and anxiety can drive people towards unhealthy –emotional spree. So be uniquely strong in faith, no doubt you will never turn to unhealthy comfort foods to soothe the emotions.
